After crossing the River Tees the first building over the bridge is the George Hotel. This historic building (dating back to the 16th Century) is sadly closed at the moment, being in administration (due to Corona virus?). Further down the road was a hoarding advertising Weddings at the George Hotel from £2,900. There will be some VERY disappointed couples.
