Tate Pier in Whitby is another 18th Century structure. The pier is where, in the book "Dracula" by Bram Stoker, the black dog lept ashore and continued up the 199 steps. The anchor is one that was caught in the nets of a fishing boat in 1991 - it's origins are unknown.
