This walk starts out from Skinningrove before climbing up the side of the valley to Loftus.
From Loftus, the route than takes you along Hummsea lane before dropping back down again to Skinningrove.
In Skinningrove, a walk is then taken to the pier and the bach at Cattersty Sands.

Park in the small parking area overlooking the harbour at NZ712 200.
Walk up the street beside the Kilton Beck until you come to a footbridge that crosses the beck.
Continue on the footpath that heads South, past the Land of Iron mining museum, all the way to Loftus.
Follow the main street in Loftus South Eastwards until you come to the "centre" of Loftus by the main church.
Here turn left down North Street.
Continue up Hummersea Lane until you come to Skinningrove Bank Road on your left.
Continue down into Skinningrove.
Follow the street and then track to the pier and past that to Cattersty Sands.
