Explorer Map 304, - Darlington & Richmond

This walk starts from the historic town of Richmond and uses easy to follow footpaths and tracks that basically follow the River Swale.
For the first section of the walk, the path is initially very easy, but then becomes less easy as it follows the river through Billy Bank Woods.
From Richmond Bridge the footpath follows a section of the Coast to Coast path to The Station.
The return from The Station is first along the old railway tackled, then past Easby Abbey on a well-defined footpath.
Finally, the return is made beside the River Swale at the Swale Falls.

A map of the route followed has been plotted on the Ordnance Survey mapping website, By selecting the ink below you will be taken to this map, - complete with distances and heights marked on the route.
