4.0 miles Explorer Map OL27, - North York Moors (East Area) This is a very "straightforward" walk, which doesn't really
need any maps. A map of the route followed has been plotted on the Ordnance Survey mapping website, By selecting the ink below you will be taken to this map, - complete with distances and heights marked on the route. The route shown is on a standard map. To view the route
on an Ordnance Survey map, select the icon in the lower right of the
screen. If the route is displayed on a 1:50 OS map, zoom in to see
the details on a 1:25 OS map. Start from the small car park by Egton Bridge Station. NZ80456 05357. Turn right out of the car park, and about 100 yards on your left is the minor road which becomes the track (Barnard's Road, - an ancient toll road) to Grosmont. Follow the track all the way to the road. Cross the River Esk by the road bridge (CARE!!). From the station in Grosmont, take the footpath Southwards past the church. Continue on the footpath to Lease Rigg, then descend by road (very steep) before crossing the River Esk and returning by the track to Egton Bridge.
