The start of this "walk" was a visit to the Church of St. Andrew in the South of Bishop Auckland. NZ21746 28505.
The church has an extensive graveyard which includes tombstones dating from the 17th Century.
After visiting the church and churchyard, the "main" part of Bishop Auckland was visited.
Parking was in the Bondgate car park.
The walk wass partly as described in "Ramblers Routes" and involved a walk inthe Palace Park down to the bridge over the River Gaunless. From there the track was followed Eastwards for some distance into High Park.
Returning to the bridge over the River Gaunless, the track was followed up to the Deer House, then down to the River Gaunless.
From here the track was followed back to the town.
