Earlier this year we attempted a walk that started in Thirsk and headed Northwards. However, the walk was abandoned due to the extreme wet conditions.
This time, instead of initially heading North out of Thirsk we headed South beside the Cod Beck, then rturned to Thirsk via Sowerby.
The walk Northwards wass once again abandoned, as the footpath remained in poor condition.

For the "Sowerby Walk", start from New Bridge in Thirk.
There is a footpath beside the Cod Beck that is eentered on theb East side of New Bridge.
Continue on the footpath to Lock Bridge over the Cod Beck.
Cross over the bridge to then take the footpath on the Western side of the Cod Beck.
When you reach the road, turn right and take the footpath beside the road to Sowerby.
In Sowerby, head North up Front Street then tak the footpath from Sowerby Flats to the centre of Thirsk.
In Thirsk, head to the car park of Bridge Street.
Here there are some very pleasant benches beside the Cod Beck.
