Start from the car parkat Noses Point.
At Noses Point there is a low stone shelter that overlooks the coastline, and nearby are various interpretative boards.
Continue along the clearly defined path until you come to a brick bridge that crosses the main railway line.
After crossing the railway line, turn left and follow the footpath for about 200 yards.
On your right is a waymarked footpath that heads Westwards through Hawthorn Dene.
Follow this footpath until it meets a minor road, and follow the road until you reach Hawthorn.
Turn left at the junction and walk up the street until you come to the church.
To return, retrace your steps until you come to the bridge that crosses the railway.
Here walk straight ahead along a grassy track until you come to Chourdon's Point. Continue on the grassy coastal track until you come to the main footpath that returns you to Nose's Point and eventually Seaham.
