Explorer Map OL27, - North York Moors (East Area)

This is a very "straightforward" walk, which doesn't really need any maps.
The walk starts from the car park at Egton Bridge (beside the Catholic Church). then takes the track (Barnard's Road) towards Grosmont.
A farm road is then taken to climb up to Lease Rigg before descending into Grosmont itself.
The return from Grosmont is from the railway station, through the car park, and then beside the road to return to Barnard's Road track.

A map of the route followed has been plotted on the Ordnance Survey mapping website, By selecting the ink below you will be taken to this map, - complete with distances and heights marked on the route.

Start from the small car park by Egton Bridge Station. NZ80456 05357.
Turn right out of the car park, and about 100 yards on your left is the minor road which becomes the track (Barnard's Road, - an ancient toll road) to Grosmont. Follow the track all the way to the road.
Here, on your right is a footbridge that crosses the River Desk.
Take the farm road up the hill to Lease Rigg.
At the top, take the track to Grosmont.
In Grosmont, cross the railway tracks at the level crossing onto the Station itself.
Leave the station by the footbridge and cross the car park to exit on the road out of Grosmont.
Cross the River Esk by the road bridge (CARE) then rejoin Barnard's Road to return to Egton Bridge,
