5.0 miles
Explorer Map OL27, - North York Moors (East Area)
This walk was taken from one described in an article in
The Times (6 August 2022).
The article states that the walk is "strenuous in parts with steep
wooded valleys".
They certainly meant it when they said "strenuous", We found
that although the walk is only 5 miles in length it felt as though it
was considerably more than this.
The walk involves muddy footpaths so should be avoided in wet conditions.
It also involves several stiles, some of which are clearly sub-standard.
A map of the route followed has been plotted on the Ordnace Survey
mapping website, By selecting the ink below you will be taken to this
map, - complete with distances and heights marked on the route.

a field.
On the other side of the field is a gate which leads you to the footpath
down into Borrowby Dale.
Cross the bridge at the bottom of the dale and climb out of the dale.
Follow the footpath across to the next dale, and after crossing that dale
