Explorer Map OL26, - North York Moors (Western
Area)
A delightful walk for almost any time of year, though highly recommended
in Spring and Autumn when trees can be seen at their best.
The walk is generally straightforward, but there is a fairly steep path,
narrow in places, from Roseberry Common down to Roseberry Lane.
Otherwise, good use is made of the railway walkway leading to Pinchinthorpe.
For a Memory Map overlay of the walk described, please select the above
link.
(Overlay made with Version 5 of Memory Map)
Some new mapping software is now available which you may
want to try, - QUO mapping. You can download the software for free from
the link below, complete with demonstration maps. Having installed QUO,
you can import and export Memory Map overlays. Thus YOU DON'T NEED Memory
Map to use any of the overlays provided on the Grey Panthers web site,
- just use QUO!!
Start from the car park by the Visitor Centre at the Guisborough
Forest walkway, Pinchinthorpe (NZ58474 15223).

the woods. Continue on the track to Hutton Gate.
Where the track meets the road, turn right and then take the footpath

Just inside the gate that marks the boundary of the National Trust property,
take the track downhill that emerges at Roseberry Lane.
Head to Newton-under-Roseberry and St. Oswald's Church.
Continue from the church to Snow Hill Farm, then take the footpath across
fields to the Guisborough Forest Walkway.
