A circular walk starting from Goathland village that first takes in the waterfall of Mallyan Spout.
Returning to Goathland via the Rail Trail, the next stop is the railway station.
From there the footpath crosses the moors to Moorgates, returning via the rail Trail and the Centenary Way.
The footpath down to the Mallyan Spout waterfall is steep, but aided by steps.
The path beside the West Beck to the waterfall is slippery, and the walker has to step over and between large rocks.
From the Mallyan Spout waterfall to the Rail Trail, the footpath is steep in parts, though aided by steps.
To ascend from the railway station at Goathland to the moors involves a steep climb up a narrow path.

Start from the car park in Goathland (NZ833 013). Fee payable.
Walk Southwestwards beside the road to the Mallyan Spout Hotel.
Here take the footpath down to the Mallyan Spout waterfall.
From the waterfall follow the footpath beside the West Beck, heading Eastwards, to reach the Rail Trail at Incline Cottage.
Follow the Rail Train South Eastwards back to Goathland village.
At the end of the Rail Trail turn left and after a few yards take the footpath to the Railway Station.
Cross the railway lines and then take the footpath up to the top of the moors.
Follow the footpath in a Southerly direction to meet the road that descends to Goathland.
Cross the road and take the track to Partridge Hill Farm.
Past the farm continue on the bridleway until you reach the road at Moorgates.
From Moorgates take the Rail Trail bridleway until you reach the intersection where there is a caravan park on both sides of the track.
Here turn left and follow the footpath back to Goathland.
Retrace your steps from the point opposite the Mallyan Spout Hotel.
