Explorer Map OL31, - North Pennines

This is a pleasant circular walk starting from Barnard Castle. The route to Lartington starts along the Teesdale Way before taking a path through Pecknell Wood to Pecknell farm and onwards to Lartington.
From Lartington a footpath takes you to the disused railway line and onwards to Deepdale.
The footpath back through deepdale to Barnard Castle can be steep and overgrown in parts. However, it is a footpath that is maintained and providing care is taken there should be no problem.
