An easy to navigate walk with virtually level ground
and only 1 stile to cross.
The outward leg of the walk leaves Pickering by the road to Newbridge,
then takes the footpath through woodland. The footpath continues through
Little Park Wood, before crossing the railway line to return along
a track to Newbridge.
From Newbridge a footpath returns you to Pickering.

Park at the long-stay car park, SE799 838.
Head Westwards into the town, maybe visiting the Church of Ss Peter and
Paul on the way.
Make for the railway station along the main street,
Head Northwards past High Mill on the road to Newbridge. Continue on the
footpath through woodland that runs beside this road.
Where the footpath meets the road again, there is a track on your right
which leads to a footpath that follows the edge of woodland.
Continue until the footpath emerges at a field and continue eastwards
across this field to Little Park Wood.
Follow the footpath through Little Park Wood to the footbridge over the
Ryedale beck. Cross the footbridge, then cross the railway line.
Now turn left and follow the track and road to Newbridge (the signal box
and level crossing)>
Past the level crossing, take the footpath to return you to Pickering.
