Explorer Map OLS26, - North York Moors (Western Areas) This walk is a delightful year-round walk. The first section
of the walk uses footpaths and tracks in the parkland of Duncombe Park.
Full details of the paths are on Duncombe Park are available on their website., - www.duncombepark.com/index.php From Duncombe Park, the route joins the Cleveland Way footpath and returns along the Cleveland Way footpath. The walk is all on easy tracks, roads, or footpaths, and there are no navigational difficulties. The views of Helmsley Castle, the Duncombe Park parklands, and Rievaulx Abbey make this a superb day out.
Some new mapping software is now available which you may want to try, - QUO mapping. You can download the software for free from the link below, complete with demonstration maps. Having installed QUO, you can import and export Memory Map overlays. Thus YOU DON'T NEED Memory Map to use any of the overlays provided on the Grey Panthers web site, - just use QUO!! Start from the main car park in Helmsley (SE61058 83787).
