A notice by the footpath warned that previous flooding had caused severe erosion of the river bank and the path may not be usable in wet weather. Until you actually came to this section of the footpath there didn't appear to be any problem. This young and agile couplle were ahead of us, and their progress showed the difficulty of the path at this point.
