Outdoor Leisure Map OL26, - North Yorkshire Moors
(West)
This walk uses well-used and popular tracks and footpaths,
so that navigation should be no problem.
There are some ascents and descents, but none pose any difficulty.
Crossing field boundaries is through gates, mostly, with just one or
two stiles.
In winter time and in wet weather, Green Lane can be very muddy. However,
at the time this walk was made, the ground was firm underfoot all the
way.

(Overlay made with Version 5 of Memory Map)
Some new mapping software is now available which you may
want to try, - QUO mapping. You can download the software for free from
the link below, complete with demonstration maps. Having installed QUO,
you can import and export Memory Map overlays. Thus YOU DON'T NEED Memory
Map to use any of the overlays provided on the Grey Panthers web site,
- just use QUO!!
Park outside All Saints' Church, Ingleby Arncliffe (NZ452
003). There is a small parking area here, and this should be use din preference
to parking in the actual village.
Walk up the track past Arncliffe Hall, and turn right where the track
divides. Continue on the track past Park House and continue in a Southwards
direction on this clear and well made track.
Where the track meets another track, turn right to join the Cleveland
Way footpath / Coast to Coast footpath heading Southwards to Osmotherley.
Just off Rueberry Lane, a track heads Northwards to the Lady Chapel (the
shrine of Our Lady of Mount Grace).
Head along this track to visit the chapel, then return along the track
to Rueberry Lane.
Now continue into Osmotherley village itself.
Close to the War Memorial there is an alleyway that leads to the Methodist
Church. Head along this alleyway to continue along the Cleveland Way to
Whitehouse Farm.
Just past the farm, turn left along Green Lane and continue into the Forestry
plantation.
About 200 yards into the plantation there is a broad track that takes
you down to the Cod Beck Reservoir.
Cross the dam at the South end of the Reservoir, then follow the track
Northwards beside the reservoir.
Where this track meets the road, continue beside the road - heading in
a Northerly direction.
A bridleway leaves the road on the left, cutting across the moor to join
the Cleveland Way footpath on Scarth Wood Moor.
Follow the Cleveland Way back into Arncliffe Wood, to rejoin the Coast
to Coast footpath that takes yo back to Ingelby Arncliffe.
