The first objective today was to pay respects at the grave of the Perfect Wife of Thornton Steward. In St. Oswald's churchyard the headstone on the left reads "In Memory of EMMA, Wife of OTTIWELL TOMLIN. Obit. 25 April 1816. Ae 66. She was _ but words are Wanting. to say, what. Think what a woman should be And she was that."
