All Saints' Church in Old Byland. The porch was open and we were more than delighted to sit inside for our lunch and escape from the wet, - though when I took this photo the rain had cleared. The church is basically Norman, but the filled in stone doorway to the left of Alan, in the picture, has a Saxon lintel.
