Inside the hall of the National Railway Museum is a collection of locomotives and carriages. This particular carriage from the Stockton & Darlington Railway dates back to 1846. This carriage used to be kept on a platform at Stockton railway station 40-plus years ago, open to public inspection. Sensibly it is now in a safe place.
