Decision time! The footpath waymark at this point above Hasty Bank Farm indicated to to go to the right (in the photo) of where Cliff is standing. To the right was an inpenetrable jungle of bracken. To the left was a broad track going in roughly the right direction but separated from us by a barbed wire fence. So we braved the barbed wire in the interests of progress.
