Explorer Map 306 - Middlesbrough & Hartlepool
A walk for any time of the year, using well marked and singposted
footpaths.
Between Norton and Wynyard on the outgoing leg, the footpath follows
first a farm track and then crosses fields by field footpaths.
Crossing Wynyard East to West there are excellent footpaths in
woodland bordering the estate, followed by walking throughthe
estate itself.
The return leg from Wynyard back to Norton uses a section of the
Castle Eden Walkway, before finally returning using farm footpaths
and tracks.
However, a section of the return route involves walking along
the Thorpe Thewles - Wolviston road, and this needs a bit of care
as it can be quite a busy road.
All-in-all a walk that is easy to follow, crosses some very pleasant
countryside, and poses no especial difficulties.
