The Police dog handlers vans. Initially, the police were less than pleased to see us, as we had come across "sterile" ground (with respect to training their dogs to follow a scent). However, the Police soon became quite chatty and amiable, - as one of them said, "who would have thought that a group would be walking where we were on a day like today".
