Explorer Map No OL26 - North York Moors Western Area
Pick a fine day with sone sunshine and good visibility and the
views on this walk are quite stunning.
The route is very easy to navigate, and there is only one possibly
tricky section. This is the path that leads downhill to cross
the Sledhill Gill, on the Way to Murton Grange Farm. The path
is reasonably steep, but what makes it difficult is the mud which
is present in wet weather. The combination of a steep slope and
slippery mud makes for difficult going.
This apart, though, the rest of the route presents no difficulties.
Gowerdale House makes an interesting stopping point, but inside
the house conditions are becoming somewhat unreliable.
