MIddleham is a famous horse-racing town, with training Gallops on nearby Middleham Low Moor. These horses were on their way to the Gallops. Soon after this photo was taken, a horse that was behind the photographer threw its rider. The rider lay unable to move in the road while three of the Grey Panthers helped attend to her while the ambulance came.
