Explorer Map OL30 (Yorkshire Dales Northern and Central
Areas)
This is a very straightforward walk using well-defined paths
in a very popular part of Wensleydale.
There are no gradients of any note, and navigation is very starightforward.
On a fine day the views would be exceptionally rewarding, with
a pleasant walk beside the River Ure.
On the day we did this particular walk, it was very wet and the
River Ure was in spate. Because of this the footpath between Lords
Bridge and Wensley Bridge was under water, and it was necessary
to turn back and take a path that led us to the main road (the
A684) which was then followed.
Because of this, it is suggested that when there is any sign that
the River Ure might be higher than normal that the walk be postponed
for another day.

installed QUO, you can import and export Memory Map overlays. Thus
YOU DON'T NEED Memory Map to use any of the overlays provided on the
Grey Panthers website, - just use QUO!!

Cross the River Ure at Lords Bridge, and soon after pass through the
gap in the wall to take the footpath beside the River Ure to Wensley
Bridge.
Cross the River Ure again at Wensley Bridge and head for the village
of Wensley.
Turn right just past the church, then turn left up a small lane.
After a few yards, you will see the footpath to Leyburn clearly signposted.
