This walk is very well signposted and indicated, and is easy to follow
if you first obtain the guide and map from the above website. The walk
is a "there-and-back" walk, with the intention being to be
able to observe Red Squirrels in the plantation at Snaizholme.
However, two words of caution;-
1. There is no guarantee of actually seeing any Red Squirrels. However,
if you don't see any squirrels, the walk itself is immensely rewarding
and there are superb views.
2. Although the walk is well described and signposted, it is definitely
a walk requiring some ability. There are steepish ascents and descents,
and the path covers some quite rough Open Access ground. In poor weather
it would be essential to keep a very close eye as to where you are treading
on the Open Access land, as there are several sink holes lying across
your path.

As a slight variation from this well described route, you may want to
return through the village of Gayle itself, and see the waterfalls from
Gayle Bridge. This would also give an opportunity to visit Gayle Mill.
