| Upstream of Barnard Castle, the River Tees used to be crossed by a massive railway viaduct. The main bridge has long since been demolished, with only remnants on either bank. Here Mike was was looking down on us as we struggled up the hill towards the bridge. Did I hear cries of "Jump,...jump...."?!! | ||
