| The Church of St. Oswald, St. Cuthbert, and King Alfwald at Halton. An absolute gem of a building that dates back (it is thought) to the 8th Century. The archway in the photo is Norman, dating from the 12th Century. The War Memorial (plaque on the right) is for a soldier of the Yorkshire Regiment, - the Green Howards, killed in September 1917. | ||
