Explorer Map OL31, - North Pennines, Teesdale and Weardale
A delightful "Four Seasons" walk, though best
done in Spring or Summer in good weather so that the views can be appreciated.
The route was chosen specifically to avoid wet ground, as the day we made
this walk had followed several days of heavy rain. There were still one
or two muddy patches, but on the whole the roads, tracks, and paths followed
are all easy.
There are a couple of ascents, but these are not of undue difficulty.
Although road walking is involved, the roads are all very minor roads
and are virtually free of traffic.
