An easy walk, starting out from
the village of Bolton Abbey (Note : car parking costs £4).
All the footpaths are clearly marked, and apart from a couple of moderate
ascents there is no particular difficulty.
Care should be taken at the Strid, where lives have been lost in the
past where people have attempted to jump the 6 foot gap.

Start from Bolton Abbey village
car park, SE0710453880.
Leave the car park by the footpath on the North side, and cross the
road to the "hole in the wall" gate.
Here the footpath leads down to the stepping stones and footbridge across
the River Wharfe.
Cross the River Wharfe, and follow the footpath Northwards along the
East bank all the way to the aquaduct at SE056567.
Cross over to the West bank and follow the footpath Southwards along
the West Bank all the way back to Bolton Abbey village.
