Explorer Map No 300 - Howardian Hills & Malton
        A circular walk following well-defined
paths and tracks. The Forestry Commission paths were a bit confusing
at one point, but as long as you follow the correct compass direction
          there is no problem.
This walk takes in some picture-postcard scenery in North Yorkshire,
and affords a very pleasant day out.

The start of the walk is from Slingsby village
        centre ((SE6976974874).
Leave Slingsby by Bank Lane, heading South. Where you meet the Centenary
Way path at SE6984173194 head East. Continue over the minor road (care
needed crossing due to the hidden brow of the hill) until the centenary
Way heads South-East through the woods at SE7140072925.
Follow the Centenary Way to Coneysthorpe village, leaving the village
        by the road heading East.
After a short distance, continue along the Centenary Way in a South Easterly
direction to Bog Hall at SE7251670824.
Continue along the Centenary Way past Lowdy Hill Wood, until the Centenary
Way heads South. Instead of following the Centenary Way, continue West
to the Castle Howard Gate House.
Here turn and follow the minor road North, past the lake, until you reach
        the cross-roads at SE707713.
Head West at this point along the minor road (great care needed on the
road due to bends hiding traffic) until the footpath back to Slingsby
        appears at SE6953071770.
The footpath back to the village is mostly well sign-posted, but you may
need to double-check your direction with a compass when in the woods.
