Explorer Map No 308 - Durham and Sunderland
A circular walk starting out from
Sherburn, - not far from Durham City. The walk takes in areas that were
once heavily associated with coal mining, but of which virtually no
trace no remains. Instead the walk crosses farmland, uses woodland trails,
and old railway track beds.
In summertime this walk would be absolutely superb, - especially if
the visibility was good.
But on a wet, murky, winter's day the walk was extremely muddy. Nonetheless,
it remained enjoyable, and interesting.
