Our walk before lunch was only a modest 5 1/2 miles, taking in the disused railway
track bed that runs from Barnard Castle to Middleton-in-Teesdale. This used to
be Romaldkirk railway station. The house where the car is parked used to be the
Wesleyan Chapel.
