Outdoor Leisure Map No 26, - North York Moors Western Area
A perfect walk on a crisp winter's
day, or just about any other day for that matter. However, it can be
extremely muddy in the woods between Over Silton and Thimbleby, and
it is best, therefore, to leave this walk alone unless conditions underfoot
are reasonably firm.

The walk starts from the centre of Osmotherley
village.
Take the well marked Cleveland Way Eastwards out of the village to Whitehouse
Farm and Oak Dale.
Continue past the reservoirs and up towards the Black Hambleton, but at
479953 take the path that leads through the Forestry Commission plantation
towards Nether Silton. This eventually opens out onto Moor Lane.
Follow the road into Nether Silton.
Just before the Church, there is a footpath on your right to Over Silton.
Make sure you visit the little Church on your way to Over Silton.
From Over Silton take the path to Thimbleby, and then the road to Osmotherley.
