10.2 miles.
Outdoor Leisure Map No 27, - North York Moors Eastern Area

The full walk of 10 miles can be shortened or adapted according to needs. Part of the walk is in managed woodlands, - near the Falling Foss the woodlands are deciduous, but South of this area the woods are pine forests.
Leaving the woods behind, there is a short length of farmland before moving up to the high moorland.
The moorland tracks are mostly very clear indeed, and navigation should not be a problem.

The walk starts from the Falling Foss car park, NZ8887203611.
Heading North from here along a marked track, the Hermitage is at NZ8858204067.
Take the path South from the Hermitage down to the May Beck, and follow the path through woodland until you come to a broad track. Turn right onto this track, and head East to Foss Farm (NZ8853603146).
From here take the path to Leas Head Farm, and then follow the Leas Head Road track to Shhep House Rig. Continue until you reach the twin boundary stones at NZ8599602419.
Here, turn to walk East South East along the Whinstone Ridge.
Where the track branches (on York Cross Rigg), take the right fork across Sneaton High Moor to Louven Howe (NZ8865999195). This is the most Southerly point on the walk.
From here, return to Falling Foss by well marked forestry roads.
