Durham Cathedral's Meridian Clock. The little hole in the middle of the window projects the light from the sun onto the wall (for the Winter solstice) and the floor for the Summer solstice. Markings on the wall opposite and the floor enable calibration of the Cathedral clocks. The installation dates from 1829.
