A memorial to Admiral Sir Christopher Cradock. He was in command of the British fleet at the Battle of Coronel on 8 December 1914, - a disaster for the British fleet when two capital ships were lost with 1440 sailors, including Admiral Cradock. Christopher Cradock came from Gilling West near Richmond and is also commemorated in the church there.
