Outdoor Leisure Map OL26, - North York Moors (Western Area)

This is a pleasant circular walk that starts in Guisborough Town and heads via farm footpaths and farm tracks to the Cleveland Way footpath at the edge of Guisborough Woods.
The Cleveland Way is then followed to High Cliff Nab.
The descent is via the Tees Link footpath to the edge of Guisborough itself.
However, instead of heading into Guisborough, a footpath is taken that runs along the Southern edge of the town before heading back into the centre.
There is about 600 ft of ascent (and descent) on the walk, and about 4 stiles to cross.

Some new mapping software is now available which you may want to try, - QUO mapping. You can download the software for free from the link below, complete with demonstration maps. Having installed QUO, you can import and export Memory Map overlays. Thus YOU DON'T NEED Memory Map to use any of the overlays provided on the Grey Panthers web site, - just use QUO!!

Start from the long stay car park in Guisborough, NZ61218 15642.
Take the footpath from Guisborough Priory that crosses the field to the Whitby Road near Guisborough Hall. Turn left along the road, and after a few yards take the footpath on the opposite side of the road that is marked "Cleveland Street". Continue along this footpath to the A171 at NZ6327715957.
At this point, take the farm track that heads due South and follow this uphill until the point where the Cleveland Way is signposted on your right, heading in a Westerly direction.
Follow the waymarked Cleveland Way all the way to High Cliff Nab at NZ6103113843.
From High Cliff Ban descend to take the Tees Link footpath to the edge of Guisborough. (The initial descent from High Cliff Nab can be steep and slippery.)
Where the Tees Link footpath meets the edge of Guisborough, turn right and follow the footpath for about half a mile until you come to a track that takes you to Guisborough.
