Inside Hartlepool's harbour, there is a beach which, - for whatever reason, somehow accumulates massive deposits of sea coal. This coal originates from exposed outcrops in the North Sea. The sea coal is put to good use by gatherers who scrape it up, bag it, and cart it away.
