| A large field outside Bishop Middleham was being worked to prepare it for the sowing of wheat. Talking to the farmer, apparently the main machine in the photo was compacting the earth as well as harrowing. It was explained that if the earth isn't compacted, then slugs wil eat the wheat grains. Note the A1(M) Motorway on the other side of the field. | ||
