From Glaisdale the Esk Valley Walk takes you along the "Monks' Trod" in East Arncliffe Wood. These stones were part of an ancient trade route connecting the Abbeys and are several centuries old. Unfortunately, there is quite a bit of damage beside the stones, much of which appears to be caused by bikes.
