A view of The Crescent in Scarborough. These are amongst many fine houses in the town, but are partly notable because Nos 8 and 9 still bear the scars of the German bombardment of Scarborough in December 1914. The War Memorial on Oliver's Mount bears the names of 20 men, women, and children killed by German bombardments in 1914 and 1917.
