Explorer Map 308, - Durham & Sunderland

A very pleasant linear walk between Chester-le-Streert's parish church and the Cathedral in Durham City. Although the walk follows part of the Weardale Way, it is called "Cuddy's Corse" and waymarks with "Cuddy's Corse" on them help point the way.
Navigation is straightforward and there are no especial problems or gradients.
The half-way point of the walk is at Finchale Priory. Entry is free, but check opening times. There is a cafe here.

A description of the walk, together with a map, is provided on the Northumbrian Association's website.

Although it is possible to park opposite the parish church in Chester-le-Street, there is ample parking in the Riverside Park Car Park, from where it is only a 10 minute walk to the church.
There are public toilets in the Riverside Park.

At the end of the walk there are plenty of service buses running between Durham and Chester-le-Street.
