| At St. Cuthbert's Church in East Rainton one of the more curious graves was that of Mary Jane Moore, who died theough an accident at the Hazard Pit (date obscured) aged 46 years. Many a (male) miner died in colliery accidents, but the death of a female colliery worker must have been relatively unusual. | ||
