The Thirsk Museum - immediately opposite possibly the best known attraction in Thirsk, - the James Herriot Museum. But the Thirsk Museum is famous for having been the home of Thomas Lord, born in Thirsk in 1755, and who founded Lord's Cricket ground in London in 1787.
