The Grey Panthers

Great excitement at Sunderland Bridge, as we set out. Two fire engines (blue lights flashing) and a Fire Rescue van (with Firemen putting on their wet gear). What COULD be up? - see below.....

Almost unbelievably all this effort was because some stupid cat had somehow got onto one of the buttresses of the bridge, and an equally stupid man was trying to rescue the cat. The water under the bridge was dangerously full and running fast, and the man was obviously in great danger. So out come the Fire Brigade.....
If the man hadn't tried to rescue the cat, you can bet the cat would eventually have swum away, - wanting its dinner.
