Start from the promenade on top of the cliffs above the pier in Saltburn (NZ66517 21658). Plenty of parking available.
Walk Westwards along the road until you come to some steps leading down into the valley of Hazel Grove.
Walk up Hazel Grove by following the footpath on the Northern side of the valley.
This eventually meets up with a broad track that runs parallel to the railway line. This track is a bridleway to Marske.
When you come to the houses, turn right and continue following first the street then a very obvious footpath until you come to the cliff edge.
Turn left and follow the top of the cliff to St. Germain's church.
Cross the churchyard and walk towards the coast. Basically continue along the coast, - on the path above the dunes, until you come to the promenade in Redcar.
In Redcar a worthwhile devaiation is to visit St. Peter's Church (NZ618 249).
Otherwise, walk along the sea front in Redcar until you are past the boating pool. Then drop down to the beach and walk along the beach to the South Gare.
