Explorer Map No 309, - Durham and Sunderland

Choose a fine day and this will be a superb walk.
Starting from Lyons Lake in Hetton Lyons Country Park, you have a brief exposure to Hetton-le-Hole itself before continuing through Hetton Park and Hetton Bogs to Rainton Meadows Nature Reserve.
The walk then continues to East Rainton, High Moorsley and Low Pittington before returning via the old railway track bed to Hetton-le-Hole.
All paths are clear and well defined, and there are no gradients of any concern.
Plenty of views and plenty to see in as regards natural history.
