This week there is no route description, as the walk was
basically just a gentle day out.
Starting from the large long-stay car park past the
railway station, the route headed past the Swing Bridge towards
              the West Pier.
As the tide was in, we couldn't walk to Sandsend along the beach
at the Whitby end, but instead climbed up the path to the Grand
Hotel on top of the West Cliff. From here, we walked along the Esplanade
until the first set of steps down to the beach, then walked along
the promenade in the direction of Sandsend.
Where there was a "slip way" onto the beach we took this
route onto the beach itself then walked to Sandsend.
Turning round at the bottom of Lythe Bank we retraced our steps
              to Whitby.
This time, as the tide was out, we walked the entire length of the
              beach back to Whitby.

The day was rounded off by crossing the Swing Bridge, then heading
up to the Abbey via the 199 steps.
